Coffee is enriching, all coffee lovers will agree. It enriches you if you have it alone, and ditto if you have it in company. What is it about a hot mug of coffee that gets life going? Some things are beyond explanation, like the bliss that a mug of hot coffee can bring. It’s not for nothing that a coffee lover said, ‘On the eighth day God created coffee.’

And beautifully, this mug of cheer sometimes brings with it so much more. Some beautiful loves have grown over coffee. Like the one involving my childhood friend, Rosanne. About a year ago, Rosanne told me how her life was transformed – and it all started over a cup of coffee. Rosanne was 38 at that time, with no interest in getting married.

Considering she is beautiful and charming, a good number of men were interested in her, but she always said no. Until love happened. Sam is ten years younger to Rosanne, and had joined her office about three months ago. Interestingly, Rosanne had never observed Sam. Until the day they got talking at an office party. Rosanne thought it was a normal conversation, not knowing that Sam was smitten by her.

And here is how their romance started with coffee. On a weekend soon after their conversation, Sam called her up and asked her, “Shall we have coffee together?” Rosanne was pleasantly surprised by his call. She said yes, and joined him for coffee. They found they immensely enjoyed each other’s company.

One coffee led to another, which led to lunches and dinners together, and today Rosanne and Sam are a happy twosome – lovebirds if you ever saw a pair. So then, so much can begin over mugs of coffee.

Like another coffee lover said, ‘A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent.’ Coffee is the happy mug that you may have during office hours too. Someone rightly pointed out that there has never been a better office communication system than the coffee break. Coffee fans, of course, believe that you have to fall in love with the cuppa to appreciate their favorite coffee one-liners.

Like they say, caffeine isn’t a drug, it’s a vitamin ! Another one goes: ‘I don’t have a problem with caffeine. I have a problem without caffeine’.
