iPods and Coffee don’t go Together

This is a funny incident that happened to me and I wanted to share it here, hoping I’ll get some responses from people who have faced similar cases.
As I was sitting in my coffee shop, taking orders, a young woman came up and ordered a café latte. She got her number and sat facing away from the counter. As soon as she sat down, she took out her iPod and started listening to music.
Within a few minutes, her beverage arrived and her number was called out. She didn’t hear it (because of the iPod playing into her ears). Her number was called about 3-4 times and then the coffee shop employees got busy with other things. As she sat there, tapping her fingers to the beat, her coffee sat on the counter, getting cold.
After about half an hour, she realized that it has been quite long. She got mad and charged towards the counter. She was almost fuming and complained to me about the services of my coffee shop. She said she has been waiting for her coffee and it hasn’t arrived yet.
Though I would get mad at her too, but I don’t like fighting with customers, and believe in solving matters with patience. Plus her anger actually made me laugh. So I pointed towards the coffee and asked, ‘is that your order?’
She piped, ‘yes’, still angry, not realizing that her number had been called many times. One of her ear buds hung from her ear while the other one had fallen on her shoulder as she fought intently.
I could hardly control my laughter, and I just replied with a smile, “Maybe next time you should wait for the order to be delivered before you switch your iPod on.” She reflected on it for about a couple of seconds and then realized what had happened. Soon her angry frown changed into an embarrassed smile. She quietly accepted her order and went back to her seat, sipping on the cold coffee.
