Coffee poetry

Released on 2011-08-12 by Emily

Coffee does not just wake us up in the morning and provide us strength for work- it inspires us. People fall in love with coffee, and when they are in deep emotional state, they write poetry over it.

I’m not a poet and these are not my creations. I’m just including a few coffee poems here to inspire all the coffee lovers on this website. Here goes:

Coffee I need, by Chuck Maddock

Coffee, I need a pot or two
To do what I must do
For without my coffee
I do not hear, I so not see
More of a tree, I be
I stand, alone, with arms raised
With eyes, fix in blank gazed
I need my coffee, to set me free
To awake, to the day, with eager glee
To go to work and earn my pay
Of course, I need four coffee breaks
Or else my body. terribly shakes
Two cups, before bed
No hot milk, coffee instead
And dream of coffee, brewing
For the next morning, ensuing

So true. Next one is Caffeine is my shepherd by an unknown poet

Caffeine is my shepherd;
I shall not doze.
It maketh me to wake in green pastures,
It leadeth me beyond the sleeping masses.
It restoreth my buzz,
It leadeth me in the paths of consciousness
for it's name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of
the shadow of addiction,
I will fear no Equal
for thou art with me;
Thy cream and thy sugar
they comfort me.
Thou preparest a carafe before me
in the presence of Thy Starbucks,
Thou anointest my day with pep;
My cup runneth over.
Surely richness and taste
shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of Mocha forever.
Amen! Amen! Amen!

Ah… I feel coffee-ish already. The next one is Oh sweet nectar by Chad Mcdade

O sweet nectar!
Fresh brewed, liquid joy!
Oh, Java!
Hot, Steaming in my mug
At home or on the road
Beverage of choice
Hot water
Filtered thru ground beans
Blacker than the night
O sweet nectar!

Caramel Macchiato by Anushka Anastasia

There is longing arising in my throat
Like a song floating on a flat-bottomed boat
Curving along the canals of Vienna

Princess Xanat, reclines like white orchids
In her lover’s sweet embrace,
melting away in velvet darkness

To the reddish gold and caramel
Overtones of sunrise and sunset
Love lift our cups to be filled

We share in the dark vigor of coffee
Cherries pressed against lips
Somewhere in Asia, Africa, Arabia careful

Hands choose the espresso that marks
More than the barren lands
Where love buried her treasure

And bid it grow, climb like a vine
Towards the heavenly sky
Where mortals become fine

My tongue with pleasure
In rivulet steams
With molten gold, I become the bee

Mesmerized by the purple tones of
The jacaranda flower
Flowing inside her.

The basket weave of caramel
Is full of promise
my thirsting lips

open with desire.

And let me add just one more- the one that describes office coffee.

The call of 1530 by Denny Oetomo

Wafting in the air
the draw of caffeine
calling out from your vein

eyelids are heavy
brains are saturated
segmentation faults accumulated

Allez allez!!
Leave that desk
tear yourselves away
no matter how you weigh
get off that posterior
and trace the caffenated way

we await you
fellow believers
in the way of the coffee
to answer the call of fifteen thirty
