Got this on 3 attempts at wave tulips, I was pretty excited. If only it would have come this easy when I was first learning rosettas!

Come to find out I was just using the wrong shape of cup. I was using a very flat style with a squared off bottom instead of a medium depth round bottom. It made all the difference in the wave.

nice, i just got a round bottom 8 oz cup and started trying this style.. haven't attempted tulips though, wanna get the waves down better, and i imagine a tulip is gonna be pretty hard in such a small cup

This is actually a 6oz cup, just use a small stream of milk and start the wiggle along the side almost immediately.

Also, the tulip still has to be poured from back to front, I don't know why, but that didn't register with my brain originally. So, after you finish the wave you move back to the middle of the cup and start the "heart push" as I have come to call it. I found it helps to have the milk a little thicker than normal.
